Our hall was dedicated as a war memorial to all the locals who served in the Second World War. It was constructed following a grant from the government and the generosity of a local landowner, alongside fundraising efforts from the community itself.
Some of the local community also gave their time and skills to help with the actual building work.
HRH Princess Mary, Princess Royal, performed the opening ceremony on May 17th 1952.
Over the years the hall has held various community events, fairs, plays, dances and more, and continues to be the centre of the community with weekly classes taking place as well as annual Christmas events.
Our hall is entirely run by volunteers and the money we raise from hiring our various rooms is put back into the hall to maintain its upkeep and also used for the benefit of our residents.
The hall is a registered charity, currently managed by a committee made up of a small band of local volunteers.
We are always looking for new members and would welcome any new faces
